seehcri.sys Error problem caused by Sony Ericsson PC suite

Many people have encountered problems with error messages saying that this file: seehcri.sys has caused an unexpected error and it also makes some of your USB ports not working. The program Sony Ericsson PC Suite, specially the live update service seems to be controlling the USB controllers somehow by creating a virtual one "Sony Ericsson seehcri Device Driver" ; or that is how many people understand the problem.

Let's talk about some solutions available, some of which I tried and worked. First thing to do is to uninstall/delete these device drivers from your device manager, right click on My computer then choose properties and then you will find device manager on the left.

After doing that, many people found that the problem is solved by only deleting the "update service" that comes with the PC suite software. You can find it by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features and then look for "update service" and uninstall it. No find the seehcri.sys file and delete it manually if it is still there, I think it was under c:\windows\system32\drivers.

Now restart your computer and go to your device manager again and roll back the drivers. Some people still faced problems after this and had to remove every seehcri.sys entry from the registry.

If the problem still exist you can try removing the Sony Ericsson PC suite software using an uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller in the advanced mode which will delete all the files that has to do with the program and then you should roll back the drivers, but this time try deleting all the USB drivers and rolling back after restarting.

I didn't have to do this last step myself as the problem was solved after deleting the drivers and the update service and the registry keys that contain the file.

If you are a Google plus user you can now play some great games and time killer like the famous Angry Birds, others include diamond Dash, Crime city, City of Wonder and a few others.

You will find the games icon at the top of the page next to the Google banner with the home, photos, profile and circles icons. Your contacts can see your achievements and high scores if they are interested in the game.

There are now more than 10 million Google+ users who can enjoy these games and share the fun with their friends and contacts, which adds to the social networking experience, of course. The games will be available gradually to everyone and more games will be added in the future.

That's a happy news at least for me because I'm a BIG fan of Angry Birds, I wish they could also add the amazing Angry Birds Rio in the future :).

E-Reding and wireless reading devices are spreading everywhere nowadays as companies find new ways to attract avid readers and gadget lovers. The two popular e-book reading devices are the Kindle from amazon.com and iPad from Apple, both have great reviews and many advantages that you should consider before making the decision.

The iPad has an LCD screen (like new laptops) while the Kindle uses the e-Ink technology and they both allow you to download and read e-books, PDF files, bookmark the pages you want, browse the web, listen to music, etc.

There are many reviews and comparisons between the two devidces, so I'll try to focus on the important advantages and disadvantages of both. The important question is: what are you going to use it for?

The Kindle seems to beat the iPad in terms of book download as the Amazon bookstore allows you to downloadhundreds of thousands of books, get your magazines and mewspapers delivered to you before everyone as well as the ability to buy new books and novels once they are published. Also, with Kindle, you don't have to search for a hot spot/WiFi as it uses the 3G wireless connection that can be used globally in more than 100 countries, which means you can also take it on your travels and you won't have to buy for a monthly internet connection.

The iPad has other features than just reading. While the web browser in the kindle is just a basic primitive browser, the iPad can give you an amazing experience of browsing the web, checking your e-mail, watching movies and photos are so much fun on the iPad more than a laptop or a mini laptop. You can also play games on it! But what about reading?

The LCD of the iPad is great for leading in dim light and doesn't need you to add a light to it. The problem with the iPad is reading in bright light or in sunlight. The iPad doesn't seem to be a good choice for reading outdoors because of the sun glare (just like the iPhone). Kindle and Kindle DX (the larger version) are amazing with their paper-like screen thanks to the e-ink technology which gives you the feeling of reading a real book. There is no sun glare and less eye strain than in the iPad.

So, Kindle makes reading easier and more comfortable and encourages you to read more. The iPad can't do the same as regards to reading but you can still do so many fun things with, things that you can do on a laptop but with a new touchy experience!

Other differences:

Kindle is much cheaper (starting at $259), much more lighter than the iPad.

Kindle has longer battery life.
Kindle allows you to add notes.

The iPad screen is larger.

The iPad needs a WiFi connection so you can't download books everywhere. But with Kindle you can download books using the 3G wireless netword anywhere there is a cellular phone connection and you don't have to pay for it.

About the eye strain issue, you should try for yourself and see if Kindle is really better than the iPad for you. Most people find the Kindle more easy on the eyes but a few has mentioned that the 2 devices felt equal for themas regards eye strain.

How to save Bookmarks on your hardisk or online

If you are planning to format your hard disk drives or just wanna have a back up of your bookmarks or favourite websites, you should consider save them, specially for those with a large list with sub-folders.

This applies to all browsers: INternet Explorer, Flock, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
In IE: Click on File > Import and Export. Then Choose Export from your browser and in the next window check "favourites". The same steps in Mozilla can be applied but in the bookmarks menu instead of the "file" menu.

Then you choose the location of the file and it will be saved as an html file. You can save the file and "import" it later to the browser in the same way you exported it.

Another wa to avoid this is by using an online bookmaring website, this way, you favourites are always stored online and you never lose them, you can name them and give them tags and file them under categories.

When using online bookmarking sites, you can choose wether to make your bookmarks private (only you can see them) or you can choose them to be public, this means you share them with other members of the website, you can see if any other people boomarked this page before, you can browse other users' bookmarks by interests and each member can vote for any bookmark, you can make new friends based on common interests, etc.

You don't have to log in into the website each time you wanna bookmark.favourite a page. All bookmarking networks allows you to download a toolbar that is integrated into your browser so that you ca directly bookmark any web page while surfing by clicking on an icon or by te usual way "Ctrl + D".

How do I take a screenshot of my desktop or running program?

It's very simple in fact. You can do it by your self or download a little program to do it for you.

The first method:

On your keyboard look for a button called Print Screen or "PRTSC" you will fin it in the upper part of the keyboard above the numbers and to the right of the F12 key in most keyboards.
Now the image is copied to the clipboard. Go to any image editing software you use (photoshop, painshop, etc) or just use "Paint" which comes with all windows versions :

Go to the "Start" menu > "Accessories" then choose "Paint".
Press Crtl + V or Choose "Paste" from the "Edit" menu in Paint or in photoshop.

You can download Screenshot Captor which is a simple program which allows you to take screenshots, save and add effects to them or edit them in anywy you like.

The auto complete feature in mozilla firefox and interenet explorer will auto complete the data you type in, whether it's a URL address, form information or usernames and passwords. You can enable or turn it off (disable). When enabled, the browser will give you options for auto complete after you type the first 2-3 letters, these suggestions come from the stored data in the history.

To turn off auto complete in Firefox follow these steps in your Mozilla firefox browser:

1- Click on the "tools" menu then choose "Clear private data".

2- Check only "Saved form and search history" and click Ok.

3- You can also check "Browsing history" if you want to disable website address auto complete.

How to disable Internet Explorer auto complete?

1- Open IE.

2-Select the "Tools" menu, then "internet options".

3-Click on the tab "Content" up in the window that popped-up.

4-Next to the "Auto complete" section, click on "Settings".

5-Check/Uncheck the options as you want:

Web adresses : if you want IE to remember the sites you visited and auto complete it for you.
Forms : for any form you fill online.
Usernames and passwords on forms.

What are RSS Feeds?
We all surf the internet and find alot of good web sites and pages that we want to remember/save their links. We like to know the recent news on some topic(s). We love to be updated.

So, some of us memorize the addresses of their favourite websites, some bookmark them in their favourite/bookmarks list, others use social bookmarking sites.

I'm sure you've seen the the icon to the lef and the word RSS alot in new websites. RSS stands for (Really Simple Syndication) which means you don't have to check your favourite websites for updates, you don't need to go to your favourite news website everytime you are looking for updates, this can be hard specially if you have a long list of these sites.

RSS brings updates from all your favourite websites down to you! at your service. Every update or change in these websites will be shown to you in a (Reader) like Google Reader.

When you subscribe to these sites' feeds, they will "feed" your reader with new updates. So a reader is a place to find all the updates of your favourite websites.

If you have a blog /website you can incorporate any RSS Feed you want in your blog using a RSS to Blog Widget. So your visitors will see any new update coming from the feed you have put on your site, but make sure the feed is relevant to your blog content.

Windows Msconfig tool

Hi everyone.. Today we are gonna use a very simple tool in windows calles MSCONFIG. One of the things it will help you to do is to prevent any program that you don't need to start automatically with windows, so if there are some programs that just start themselves every time you login to windows, you can use it to stop these programs.

Go to Start menu, then choose Run :

Now type "msconfig" without the quotation marks as in the image above, press Enter.

You will see a window like this one, choose the Start up tab:

This contains all the application that start everytime you start your computer. Some of them are windows components so you just leave them alone. Uncheck any program that you don't want to start with windows. If you don't know some of them don't do anything, just leave them, check/uncheck only the programs you know.

How to perform a Scan Disk in windows

Hi, This is how to you can perform a scan disk in windows XP and Vista. It scans your hard disk for any errors. So it helps to run it monthly and if you notice your PC slowing down or making some unexplained errors

Steps:
1- Go to Start menu > Run. (remember you have to be logged in as administrator)
2- Type in: "cmd"
3- A black MS-DOS window will appear, type this if you want to check drive C:
"chkdsk c: /f"
4-A message will appear asking if you want to perform the scan the next time you restart your PC, type "Y" and then hit Enter.

The Scan will be performed the next time you restart your PC.

1-Delete any unnecessary programs
2-Empty the Recycle Bin
3-Delete Temporary Internet Files.
4-Use the Disk Cleanup :

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. If several drives are available, you might be prompted to specify which drive you want to clean.

Detect and repair errors:To run the Error Checking utility:

1.Close all open files.

2.Click Start, and then click My Computer.

3.In the My Computer window, right-click the hard disk you want to search for bad sectors, and then click Properties.

4.In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab.

5.Click the Check Now button.

6.In the Check Disk dialog box, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.

7.If bad sectors are found, choose to fix them.

Adjust the visual effets :
From your control panel choose System > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Visuals Effects, choose the options that suits you. If you want maximum performance choose Adjust for best performance, Later if you feel that windows is missing some flare yo can go and change it as you like it by choosin custom.

My new cellular phone is Sony ericsson w910i, these phones are a little different from Nokia phones so i'll be giving you some tips about how to start using the phone :

-To add a space between words u will use the (#) button instead of zero in Nokia phones.

-To switch to silent mood press the (#) buton for a few seconds.

-The bluetooth headset is usefull as the speakers are a little lower in sound. There's no proved method to increase the sound/voice in this phone, so if you increased the sound to the maximum and you still not satisfied, the bluetooth headset is your solution.

-The Sense me function is used in games, u just move your phone don't use the keys (up, down, right left)! but u can change the options.

-To mark several items in a list (messagesm for example) just choose options then Mark several.

-Use the key on the upper right side to increase or decrease the volume. If you are receiving a call you can make the phone silent by pushing this button once, pushing it twice will send a busy tone to the caller.

-Horizontal or vertical! u can view images and play music as u want just hold your phone horizontally or vertically and the picture will change it's direction to fit the new position.

-To change the writing language just press the (#) button for a few seconds (while writing a text message).

-To charge the bluetooth handsfree, use the phone charger, notice the small metal pins on the side plugged into the phone, one of them is a little longer, plug the headset in it. Like in this pic :

-Shake control : press on the Walkman® key, then flick your wrist. A vibration lets you know that the track has been changed - a new song from your current playlist is selected randomly then played automatically. Shake your wrist to the other side to go back to another song.

How to install themes for Sony Ericsson w910i:
After downloading the theme, unzip/unpack the files. Connect ur phone to the PC and copy the files into the themes folder.Then go to the main menu in the phone (after disconnecting it) , choose Settings > Display > Themes and choose ur theme. :)
